Located on the northern part of the island with a surface area of 57,09 Km 2, at an altitude of 350 m and a population of 35 799, it is 42 Km by road from Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

To the west it limits with San Juan de La Rambla and to the east with Puerto de la Cruz and La Orotava, that continues to border it southwards. To the north it has a coastline of cliffs, although it has a coastal platform known as La Rambla del Realejo.
